Tresses of Hope Foundation

  I am the founder, of The Tresses of Hope Foundation. I am also a hairstylist, wig artist based in Chicago, Il. My specialties are extensions and custom wigs, but I am very passionate about healthy hair. There are a few reasons why I started this foundation: my mother who is a lupus fighter/survivor, clients that I've encountered in the past, & the many girls and women that deal with low self esteem due to severe or traumatic hair loss.  Although, we all say and strongly believe that beauty comes from within, the reality is women stress over our overall physical apperance. We very much so value our tresses. In some cases the right hairstyle or cut can help mold our personality, sense of style, and become a way of self expression and creativity.

 

Women and children that are battling diseases such as Cancer and Lupus usually end up sacrificing a lot to make sure that their medical bills are paid, medication is available, families are secure, etc. Regular hair salon visits may no longer be within their budget or means, so I would like to give any one dealing with hair loss the opportunity to feel that burst of excitement when you get a new hair do. I belive that my wig units would be a perfect way to just show people that someone does empathize with what they're going through and cares. This is a non for profit foundation and we currently do not have any funding, everything is paid for out of pocket. Hopefully with the help of your generous donations we can put smiles on more peoples faces by providing them with units. How it works: We accept applications continously, however we can not guarentee that an unit can be provided to every person that applies, severity of hair loss does matter. We can only guarentee 2 units per month, all other units will be created based off donations or placement on waiting list. Accepted applicants will be posted on our website and all social media platforms, donations are welcome at any time.

 

Who can apply: Women between the ages of 10-60 yrs of age, dealing with severe hair loss from: -Cancer

-Lupus

-Alopecia

-Male Pattern Baldness

-Scalp Disease

-SEVERE extension damage (temples, crown, nape)

Guardians must apply for anyone that is 18 yrs old or younger.
